Contemporary art unit OBI specialized in Contemporary Art and Architecture has established by an artist Yasuhito Suzuki and an architect Tomomi Homma since 2017.
We especially produce the community development by grafting Contemporary Art on Architecture for bring out the hidden talent in a town. We create the whole story from the entrance let people have an interest to the exit let people act for the future by conversation with people.
Various clients offer us, for example “KIYA project” was the renovation work with an import company, “TSUKIGATA Art project” has been exhibited at Water and Land Art Triennale in Niigata, and “Multiplying art talk sessions” etc.
OBI is a part of KIMONO and a girdle of book, record. We are to liken society to cloth composed warps and woofs. Warps are various field in society, and the woofs are interaction with others.
We try to make like a big and strong cloth politely with spin unconscious mind and original culture. We edit from past to future like a book and visualize adapting to the present. After finish writing the last page for future, we hand it to client with an original OBI.
美術作家・鈴木泰人、建築家・本間智美によって組織された現代芸術活動ユニット。
2017 年より活動開始。
建築家による場・仕組みづくりと、美術作家による内側の見えない／見えにくい素材を題材にした表現活動を併せ持つことで、社会課題を題材にしたプロジェクトにおいて、会話・対話を軸にして入口から出口までを創り出している。
民間企業とのリノベーション作品『木屋プロジェクト』、水と土の芸術祭市民プロジェクト作品『月潟アートプロジェクト』、多分野と美術の新たな接点を見出す『アート言えば、ソート言う』など、多岐にわたる。
日本語の帯から由来しているOBI は、社会における多分野（経糸）を、人と人との交流（横糸）で接点をつくるだけでなく、風土や文化の文脈、見えない／見えにくい想いを紡いで、丁寧に・丁寧に、大きくて強固な布に仕上げてゆく。
織り上げるプロセスは、１冊の本のように、１ページ・１ページ、過去から現在が現代に合わせて編集・可視化。最後に未来への新しいページが、その本に書き込まれたとき、ふたつとない帯をつけて、手から手へ手渡される。

20 年住んだ名古屋から2014 年にU ターン。以来、水と土の芸術祭2015 副実行委員長等、現代アートに関わるようになり、地域プロデューサーとしても活動。
に根付いた文化をアートの力を借りながら再編集し、包括的な社会整備に取り組む。新潟市南区まちづくりアドバイザー。
主なプロジェクトに『南区みずつち市民プロジェクト2015』『白根仏壇プロモーション』『ル レクチェ里帰り・日仏文化交流』『天昌堂プロジェクト2016・2017』など。

Currently I work as an art while going between the city and the countryside. At Tama Art University I have completed my master's course in painting and have been exhibiting my works since I was in college. And, I was close to a big city, I still continue to question doubts in my life and society. My work has a theme to measure distance.It is an experience drawn by the work and it is possible to confirm the whereabouts.Instruments, tableaux, project art, performance art are examples of measures to measure whereabouts.The colorful and nostalgic view of the work becomes a role of the ruler and the lighthouse for the viewer and informs the whereabouts. As I continued my art work, I felt the feelings of people living in the town and the connection with people. My work gives people peace of mind and makes a connection.
生活の中にあるありふれた光と陰や居場所を測ることを題材にした表現で作品を発表し現在に至る。
扱う画材や素材は顔料絵具を始めインクやペンを扱い、インスタレーションやパフォーマンスなどにおいて民族楽器や照明を利用し、表現方法は多岐に渡る。
また、地域と美術の課題にも積極的に取り組み、見る事の出来ないモノや見ようとしないモノにスポットを当てて形に起こしていく。
OBI においては、ディレクションを行い作家同士の交流や発展、地域においては住民を相手に人材の発掘と育成にも尽力を注いでいる。
